White or Brown? What is the difference and does it matter? While discussing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the views he was trying to teach the world, we taught them to our preschool kids by using eggs!! The kids were able to examine each egg thoroughly and make predictions about what they felt would be on the inside. After that, they cracked them open to reveal that even though the eggs looked very different on the outside, they were the exact same on the inside. We expanded the lesson learned to emphasize that people, no matter what color their skin is, are all exactly the same on the inside too. It was an egg-cellent way to teach the kids to never judge a book by its cover and that every person should be judged by more than what their outside appearance is.
